acquisition of A.C.E Baking Company, Inc. 
Avon, IN - March
4, 2002 - Harlan Bakeries, Inc., announced the acquisition
of A.C.E. Baking Company, Inc., at 1803 E. 58th Avenue,
Denver Colorado.
The A.C.E. Baking Company, Inc., facility
produces many varieties of freshly baked bagels, frozen
bagels, and mini bagels for numerous private label and
in-store bakery customers as well as the "Rocky
Mountain" brand bagel.
"With the acquisition of A.C.E.
Baking Company, Inc., Harlan Bakeries, Inc., gains considerable
operating expertise and adds a strong growth platform
for extending our distribution territory to the Western
U.S.," said Doug H. Harlan, Executive Vice-President
of Harlan Bakeries, Inc. headquartered in Avon, Indiana.
Harlan Bakeries, Inc., has indicated that it intends
to retain A.C.E. Baking Company, Inc.'s management team
and employees. It is expected that both companies will
retain their individual identities while consolidating
their corporate infrastructure.
