Bakeries participates in the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery
Association’s annual Seminar and Expo.
Las
Vegas, NV, June 1 – 3, 2003 - Harlan
Bakeries participated in the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery
Association annual trade exposition. This year Harlan
showed everyone a new look by occupying a 20 by 20 foot
island booth located in the first isle. No one had trouble
finding the Harlan booth among the packed convention
center with 1274 booths, due to the large circular header
displaying our company logo almost 14 feet in the air.
Harlan has been a member of the International
Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association since 1999, and has had
booths in the last four shows. Initially, Harlan started
with a basic 10 by 10 foot booth and as the bakery grew
our booth grew as well to a 10 by 20 foot booth. This
year we were proud to have a beautifully appointed 20
by 20 foot island booth with product served on two main
isles, and a serving counter in the center of the booth.
We were able to provide our customers and friends a
place for a brief break while admiring our three corner
display cabinets that held our full product line.
Harlan baked off fresh product each
day for displays and for sampling. Fresh cookies, muffins
and bagels were baked, displayed and tasted by many
of the 8100 attendees. In fact the cookies were so good
some were taken from the display cabinet almost faster
than they could be replaced.
Joseph E. Latouf, Executive Vice President
of Sales said, “This show was an enormous success.
All of our industry friends and all attending customers
visited us. Our location gave us great visibility and
this allowed us to meet with almost everyone. Overall
it was a great show!”
Hugh and Doug Harlan, principle owners
of Harlan Bakeries, Inc., agreed. Hugh said, “I
have never seen our booth so busy. New customers and
old friends were with us all day long. At times we didn’t
have enough sales personnel to speak with everyone interested
in our products.” Doug was equally pleased with
the turn out and the pace of the IDDBA, “I am
pleased with the large turn out and the tremendous interest
in our products, there were lots of questions, lots
of samples and lots of potential new customers. The
show was a great success.”
The Harlan Bakeries team is looking forward to even more success after this year's event in Las Vegas. We are very excited
about next year's IDDBA trade exposition to be held in Washington D.C. from June 6 - 8, 2004. We hope to see you there.
